Jeffrey L. Moody, CBI
PresidentINTRODUCTION
Jeff, along with his wife Sheree, opened the Dothan office of Sunbelt Business Brokers in 1995. Prior to opening the office, Jeff had worked in manufacturing management for seventeen years. In the food and pharmaceutical industries, he held positions in Plant, Operations, and General management.
BACKGROUND
Jeff has been involved in many business transfers and acquisitions, both before and after opening the Sunbelt office. He has also had extensive experience in Quality Control, Packaging, Cost Accounting, and Industrial Engineering. He headed up projects in Change Management, and Continuous Improvement. Other past associations include membership in the Institute of Packaging Professionals, American Association of Candy Technologists, and Industrial Division Chairman for the United Way.
Jeff is a member of the International Business Brokers Association, and holds their Certified Business Intermediary designation. He holds an Alabama Real Estate Brokers License. Jeff serves on the Presidents Council for the Sunbelt Business Advisors Network, LLC. Jeff is a member of the Dothan Rotary Club. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Industrial Management) from Auburn University.
William J. Byrd, PhD, CBI
Senior Business AdvisorINTRODUCTION
Bill is a native of Dothan who graduated from Rehobeth High School in 1956. He returned to Dothan in 1996 to care for aging parents and close relatives. He joined Sunbelt Dothan in early 1997. Prior to his return, Bill spent his entire professional career in academic pharmaceutical research and consulting. In discharging his responsibilities in the industry, Bill often led or participated in senior management teams who were responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and acquiring technologies or technology-based companies in the pharmaceutical, venture capital start-up, and academic-incubator areas.
BACKGROUND
Bill is a veteran of both the USAF and US Army Reserve having spent 13 years in reserve capacity with 3 tours of active duty service totaling almost 2 years. He is a member of the International Business Brokers Association and has gained the organizations Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation. He also holds an Alabama Real Estate Sales License. Bill has earned 3 university degrees, a BS in biology from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, a MS in pharmacology from the Medical College of Alabama (now UAB), and a PhD in Medical Biology from the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. After acquiring his PhD, Bill worked for the World Health Organization as an immunolgy consultant for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Papua-New Guinea and later worked with Dr. Jonas Salk at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, CA. Bill is a past or emeritus member of multiple scientific and professional societies and organizations. During his extended career, Bill has been involved in scores of transfers of ownership for both large and small start-up corporations as well as numerous technology transfers, in-licensing and out-licensing considerations.
Brandon Shoupe
Business AdvisorINTRODUCTION
Brandon is from the Dothan area. He graduated from Wicksburg High School and received a degree in Software Engineering from Auburn University. He worked in the defense industry prior to joining Sunbelt.
BACKGROUND
A software engineer by trade, he worked for the Department of Defense in the Washington, DC area while in college. After graduation he went to work for Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida. At Harris, he helped develop communication programs as well as product data management software. While searching for a business to buy, he found out about Sunbelt Business Brokers. Brandon decided to join the company and help others buy and sell businesses. He is active in business brokerage and commercial real estate sales, leasing, and development.
